Data Structures

The AnywhereDirect Web Service only uses two data types to pass information to or from its clients:

• string
• DataSet

Note that both of these data types are supported natively in ASP.NET, which is the environment used to create the AnywhereDirect Web Service.

Most information is passed using DataSets. There are two DataSets involved in the Web Service AnywhereDirect Web Service operations:

Request DataSet

Supplied when calling a Web Service method. Can contain the following DataTables:

• Parameters
  Should always be provided whenever a Request DataSet is used
• Data
  Optional depending on the operation
• Sorting
  Optionally used with certain operations to specify sorting of response results

Response DataSet

Provided in the response from a Web Service method. Can contain the following DataTables:

• Status
  Will always be provided
• Data
  Provision depends on the operation
